Aurora Multimedia's New IBT Series Is Unlike Any Other

The simplicity of HDBaseT with the scalability of AVoverIP.

IPT-1-WP1

IBT-1-BX

The IBT Series AV Distribution Solution consists of two 4k60 4:4:4 transceiver devices, IBT-1-BX (box) and IBT-1-WP1 (1 gang wall unit). These can either be used as a point to point extension kit OR they can be used to create distributed systems or a matrix.

Here is how it works. Each unit can be set as a transmitter or receiver and can be addressed from 0 to 255. If being used as point to point, assign one as a transmitter and the another to receiver, address them both to zero and connect with CAT cabling or fiber accordingly. You now have a point to point hdmi extender.

If it is to be used as a distribution amplifier, assign one as a transmitter and the others as receivers. Address all units to zero. Connect to a network switch that Aurora recommends in the documentation (Netgear AV is one of them). Video will then automatically route from the transmitter to all of the receivers.

To make a switch or matrix, set the devices accordingly as transmitters and receivers, and then give them all unique addresses starting with 1. With a simple multicast or RS-232 command, the units will route accordingly.

The IBT Series is meant to only use a network switch that is on Aurora's list of recommended switches as a matrix to “glue” the IBT devices together.

IBT's basic feature set puts it at nearly half the cost of the flagship VPX-TC1-Pro AVoverIP. It's another one of the ways Aurora is changing the topology of AV.
